Abstract: Angesichts des progredienteren Verlaufs der Hepatitis C Infektion bei mit HIV Koinfizierten, der verbesserten Prognose der HIV Infektion im Zeitalter von haart, der zunehmenden relativen Bedeutung von Hepatopathieen bei Koinfizierten, der vermuteten Kombinierbarkeit von antiretroviralen Medikamenten und Ribavirin sowie der verbesserten Effektivität von pegylierten Interferonen in Kombination mit Ribavirin betr. HC-Viruselimination ist anzunehmen, dass in Zukunft vermehrt koinfizierte Patienten entweder vor einer antiretroviralen Behandlung, oder nach Einleiten derselben auch gegen Hepatitis C Infektion behandelt werden. Optimale Therapieschemen müssen entwickelt und erforscht werden.
