Title EMCDDA strategy and work programme 2013-15 Type (down) Report
Year 2012 Publication Abbreviated Journal
Volume Issue Pages 68
Keywords administration and management; government and politics; communication; cooperation; risk assessment; AOD demand; database; AOD supply; monitoring; European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (body); international area; Europe
Abstract The 2013-15 strategy and work programme is the third one since the EMCDDA’s recast Regulation in 2006. It is built around three top-level commitments: (a) providing a relevant, timely and responsive analysis of the drug situation; (b) efficiency: deriving maximum value from activities and investments; (c) communication and a customer-orientated approach. The bedrock on which this three-year strategy and work plan rests is the recognition that the achievements the agency has made since its inception have been delivered by maintaining clarity of purpose, technical rigour and a long-term vision.

Title War on drugs : report of the Global Commission on Drug Policy Type (down) Report

Keywords AOD use, abuse, and dependence; HIV infection; harm reduction; public policy on AOD; recommendations or guidelines; law enforcement; violence; drug decriminalization; case study; international area; Switzerland; United Kingdom; Netherlands; Portugal; United States; Australia; West Africa; report
Abstract The global war on drugs has failed, with devastating consequences for individuals and societies around the world. Fifty years after the initiation of the UN Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, and 40 years after President Nixon launched the US government’s war on drugs, fundamental reforms in national and global drug control policies are urgently needed. Vast expenditures on criminalization and repressive measures directed at producers, traffickers and consumers of illegal drugs have clearly failed to effectively curtail supply or consumption. Apparent victories in eliminating one source or trafficking organization are negated almost instantly by the emergence of other sources and traffickers. Repressive efforts directed at consumers impede public health measures to reduce HIV/AIDS, overdose fatalities and other harmful consequences of drug use. Government expenditures on futile supply reduction strategies and incarceration displace more cost-effective and evidence-based investments in demand and harm reduction.

Title Schlussbericht : Anwendung von Wirkfaktoren in der Emailberatung von SafeZone.ch Type (down) Report
Year Publication Abbreviated Journal
Volume Issue Pages 93
Keywords report; quality control; indicators; e-health; m-health; addiction care; counseling; self-help; secondary prevention; indicated prevention
