  Abstract Herz-Kreislauf- und Krebserkrankungen sind heute die häufigsten Todesursachen und die Hauptgründe für vorzeitig verlorene Lebensjahre. Die Förderung von gesundheitsbewusstem Verhalten und gesundheitsförderlichen Verhältnissen vermindert dieses Gesundheitsrisiko. Prävention und Gesundheitsförderung sind der Schlüssel zum Erfolg. Beides zusammen ist nachhaltig wirksam und volkswirtschaftlich sinnvoll und es führt zu einer spürbaren Entlastung der stetig steigenden Gesundheitskosten. Das zur Diskussion stehende Präventionsgesetz unterstützt diese Politik, ganz der alten Weisheit folgend: “Vorsorgen ist besser als heilen.”

La conjugaison de ces deux éléments permet aussi de réduire les coûts sur le long terme. La loi sur la prévention est là pour concrétiser l’adage selon lequel “il vaut mieux prévenir que guérir”!

  Abstract This report provides an overview of what is known about how cocaine is produced and trafficked into the European Union. It aims to provide a better understanding of the actors involved, the routes taken, and the scale of the problem in Europe. It also reviews some of the supply reduction responses already developed at European level. Its findings are based on the latest data and analysis available from specialised European and international organisations, NGOs and scholars. This publication is structured in a way that provides a condensed review of key issues relevant to understanding how cocaine reaches European markets. Background information on the chemistry and legal status of cocaine and crack cocaine, as well as key European figures, are also provided.

  Abstract SUMMARY: BMS-790052, Bristol-Myers Squibb’s investigational hepatitis C virus (HCV) NS5A inhibitor, demonstrated potent early antiviral activity at 4 and 12 weeks when combined with the standard regimen of pegylated interferon plus ribavirin in previously untreated patients with HCV genotype 1, investigators reported at the at the 45th Annual Meeting of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL 2010) this month in Vienna.

  Abstract Aufgrund der Zunahme von Medienberichten zur Research Chemicals (RC) haben wir uns entschieden die aktuellsten Infos zu den häufigsten RC’s zusammenzutragen. Bezüglich der Konsumsituation ist es uns wichtig festzuhalten, dass der Konsum von Research Chemicals im Raum Zürich eine Seltenheit darstellt. RC’s werden nur von einem kleinen Teil der “Partydrogenkonsumenten” konsumiert. Bis zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt werden unseres Wissens RC’s auch noch nicht an Partys oder auf dem Schwarzmarkt gehandelt, sondern ausschliesslich über das Internet bestellt. In sehr seltenen Fällen werden RC’s, vor allem Mephedrone, auch als XTC Tabletten verkauft. Wie sich der Konsum von RC’s in Zukunft entwickelt, ist schwierig vorauszusagen, wir werden diesen aber weiterhin im Auge behalten und sie gegebenenfalls über aktuelle Tendenzen informieren!
